Privacy policy

In short

This website sets no cookies, embeds no analytics tool, loads no fonts from someone else’s server and contains no contact form. That is why there is no consent dialogue here either: there is nothing for you to agree to.

What remains are our host’s technical logs — and those you do not need to permit, they arise whenever anyone opens any website on the internet.

Your lab results never reach us. They live in the app on your device. See “The Lab Tracker app” below.

This website

Server logs

The site is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. (Cloudflare Pages). When you open it, your browser transmits technically necessary data which Cloudflare records in log files:

• your IP address (shortened by Cloudflare, or stored only briefly)
• date and time of the request
• the address requested
• browser type and operating system
• the referring page, if you followed a link

This data is needed to deliver the site and helps against overload and attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR — our legitimate interest in secure, uninterrupted operation. We do not combine these logs with other data and build no profiles from them.

Cloudflare is based in the USA and processes the data as a processor on our behalf. The transfer is based on the European Commission’s adequacy decision for the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and, additionally, on standard contractual clauses. No cookies, no tracking

We set no cookies and use no comparable techniques such as local storage for recognition. There is no Google Analytics, no Matomo, no pixel and no chat tool.

Fonts

The typefaces Newsreader, IBM Plex Sans and IBM Plex Mono are stored on our own server and loaded from there. No connection to Google Fonts or any other third-party service is made, so your IP address is not transmitted there.

Links to the App Store

The “Get it on the App Store” button is an ordinary link. Only when you click it does your device connect to Apple, and Apple’s privacy policy then applies. No data is transmitted to Apple before that — the site embeds no store widget either.

Contact by email

If you write to us, we process your details in order to reply. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) or (f) GDPR. We delete messages once they are no longer needed and no retention obligation stands in the way.

Please do not send us lab results, medical reports or details of illnesses by email. Health data enjoys special protection (Art. 9 GDPR), and ordinary email is not encrypted end to end in transit. We do not need your values to answer questions about the app.

The Lab Tracker app

This section describes the app, not the website.

Your values stay on your device

Everything you enter in Lab Tracker — profiles, tests, values, custom reference ranges — is stored by the app on your device. There is no user account with us, no sign-in and no Talea Labs server that the app would send anything to.

iCloud, if you switch it on

With iCloud enabled, the app syncs your data across your Apple devices through your own iCloud account. The data then resides in your personal iCloud storage — not in storage belonging to us. Apple provides this service; we have no access to that area of your iCloud account and cannot view, read out or evaluate the values kept there. If you would rather not use it, turn off iCloud syncing for Lab Tracker in your iOS settings; the app then continues to work purely locally.

No tracking, no ads, no sharing

The app contains no analytics tool, no ad network and no third-party components that evaluate your behaviour. We pass no data to third parties — we have none. Accordingly, the App Store states for Lab Tracker: “The developer does not collect any data from this app.”

Deleting

You delete your data by removing entries and profiles in the app, or by uninstalling it. To delete the iCloud copy as well, use your device’s iCloud settings. Because we hold no copy, there is nothing we must — or can — delete for you.

Remember the CSV export before deleting if you want to keep your values — we cannot restore them.

Purchase and billing

The purchase runs through the App Store. From Apple we receive no payment details and no names, only aggregated sales statistics with no link to individual people.

Your rights

You have the right to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21 GDPR). Please contact us at the address given above.

Note that we can give you no information about your lab results and cannot delete them — they are with you, not with us. These rights concern the data we actually process: server logs and email correspondence.
